Skull Swap

Skull Swap is a fast, pure match-3 puzzle - no RPG layer, just a score chase. Swap tiles to clear matches, trigger cascades, and set off bombs to rack up the highest score you can in a single run.

Playing

  • A run is a fixed 25 matches long.
  • The tiles are the project icons from across the Skulliance ecosystem.
  • Score comes from matches, cascade combos (chains that clear as tiles fall), and special bombs (CARBON and DIAMOND bombs) that clear larger areas.
  • Separate matches off one slide each count. Two matches from a single swap forge a DIAMOND; three forge two; and so on - every match past the first is worth one. On top of that each match still forges whatever its own size earns, so a 4 beside a 3 gives you the Carbon the four made and an escalation Diamond, and a 5 beside a 3 gives you two Diamonds. There is a points bonus for it as well, because landing two matches in one move is a different skill from landing one long one and it used to pay nothing at all.
  • An L or a T is one match, not two. The two runs share a corner tile, so five tiles in that shape is a match of five - it forges a Diamond for its size and sets off every bomb in it, like any other five.
  • A bomb caught in any match detonates. That one blast fires first, before anything it sets off chains - it is the oldest rule in the game and every size below adds to it rather than replacing it. Where there is a choice, the DIAMOND goes off.
  • A match of four also pays for the bombs it wasted - every bomb in the line except the one that fired, credited at what its own detonation would have paid - and forges the CARBON it earned, which goes off after.
  • A match of five is the ultra match, and the only one where every bomb in the line detonates, one after another, plus the DIAMOND it forges. Each bomb beyond the first pays +150 on top, because each one cost a match of its own to build.
  • The 25th match counts like any other. A bomb earned on the final move is forged and fired before the grand finale, and the score on the game-over panel is the score that reaches the leaderboard. Both used to be wrong in the same way: the run was declared over while the last match was still being scored.
  • Skull Swap is public - anyone can play, even logged out. You must be logged in for your score to be saved to the leaderboard.
  • Signed in, the Play menu drops you straight onto the board. The page a logged-out visitor lands on, with the pitch and the screenshot, is for people who have not decided yet.

Scoring & Anti-Cheat

  • The score ceiling is 30,000 points - above anything a perfect game can reach (about 22,400), so a real record is never rejected.
  • To keep the leaderboard honest, a run must take at least 60 seconds, and each game uses a one-time validation token issued at the start and consumed on submission.

Leaderboard & Rewards

Skull Swap runs on a weekly cadence and ranks players by their best single-run score. The weekly leaderboard distributes a pool of 25,000 CARBON down the rankings by rank; top finishers' CARBON is convertible to DIAMOND at 100:1. See Crafting.
